Snippets: Exploring Canada

My husband, Sean, has been visiting this magical spot in Canada since he was only about 18 months old. Spending long summers, finding all the nooks on the four acre island and the 31 mile lake itself. On our drive up, we talked to Tom a lot about when Sean was a little boy, looking for crayfish next to the boat house. Talking about what was coming, how his daddy and uncles used to love it, Tom Otis was excited to join in the fun. Right out of the boat, he was excited to start exploring our family’s island. He wanted to find all the crayfish and rocks. He threw on his Aigle Striped Lolly Pop Boots and got to it. Side note, Tom didn’t want to take his boots off the rest of the trip. He loves them so much! Sean was able to get out there too, and explore with Tom, wearing his Aigle Bison Boots.

Tom Otis went to day camp each day, while we were on the island. We hopped into the boat each morning, drove 30 mins up the lake and dropped him off. Each afternoon, when we’d get home, he was ready to explore the parts of the island that he hadn’t seen yet. Towards the end of the week, we went to the most north end of the lake and found these little craters in the rock edge. Perfect for exploring.

I love that he gets to share this space and time of his life with his dad. There’s something about it that makes going to Canada so much more special to us.

Thanks for following our adventures on Instagram during our trip.

This post was made possible by Aigle, now sold in US and Canada. Each pair of boots is handmade in France and I have to tell you, I couldn’t be happier with these boots. They are so comfortable, beautiful to look at, so well made, and were the perfect travel boots. While this was made possible by Aigle, the thoughts and opinions in this post are my own.
